TAFA Project News
The Final Solution
Other sites are still out there trying to collect files one at a time in order to create a collection for Total Annihilation players. This project will eventually be used to save as much valuable information to CD-ROM, and then down the road when other Total Annihilation resources are gone, this will be able to open up shop.
Currently files that are being included:
- Compilation packs
- Unit packs
- Patches
- Scripting programs
- Mapping programs
- Maps
Unfortunately disk space is limited, so not every unit will make it into the archive. It's expected that unit makers will keep a backup of their own work to hold on to. This service may or may not be free, most likely a small fee will be charged in order for someone to gain access to all the files. If the game should ever be miraculously open-sourced, the files will all be available for free at
Open Source Gaming. This situation is highly unlikely however...
Stay tuned for more updates!
The TAFAP project long outlasted the project conceived on
TAUniverse to produce CD's of the best Total Annihilation content, just as I said it would...
I may pick up this project once again someday, but for now, I'm going to lay it to rest.
I've added a few new people to the Who's Who list on the Encyclopedia, and it has also been moved to its own sub-domain at
http://galactica.tauniverse.com/. Check it out even though it is still the old black design. I figure I might just stick with that instead.
I'll be working on the Encyclopedia design tonight.
The Encyclopedia is now up on the TAU page, and lately has made it into the top 20 nearly every day.
I've been working it, and cleaned out the content that wasn't as useful.
I haven't messed with this in a while... in some ways I don't see why I should, the site still isn't on TAU's sidebar... Anyday now folks...
Still waiting for that script from Gecko, in the meantime just surf around the site! Contribute to the Encyclopedia if you wish!
Reorganization is taking place, hopefully Gecko will be writing a script for the Encyclopedia, and so in the meantime, I won't be doing too much.
The TA Manual Glossary has been included into the
E! Enjoy!
The
E might be moving to TAUniverse.com... look foward to more info in the future.
